About Me

I live in Peterhead with my husband Gary and two beautiful daughters Leoni and Katlyn.

My experiences of pregnancy, birth and early motherhood inspired me to train as a birth doula with Birth Consultancy which is an approved training programme with Doula UK run by a former midwife, Adela Stockton in 2005. Since then I have supported women in their individual choices of homebirth, VBAC and caesarean section, from which I have gained valuable experience.  Being a member of Doula UK means that I follow their code of practice and philosophy

I understand that birth, at times, may be unpredictable, I believe that every woman has the power to achieve a happy birth experience and to feel confident in her body and in her choices (for birth, pain relief, method of feeding, etc.) at such a life-changing time.  I also believe that an empowering birth makes for happy and confident parenting…a gentle beginning is the foundation for love and caring that lasts a lifetime.
